Eisner Awards, o Oscar dos quadrinhos

Todo ano, durante a San Diego Comic-Con, acontece a cerimônia de gala do Eisner Awards. Trata-se de um troféu dado para os trabalhos mais criativos e inovadores da indústria norte-americana de quadrinhos. O administrador do evento, Jackie Estrada, explica “A intenção primária destes prêmios é chamar a atenção e celebrar o melhor que a arte dos quadrinhos tem a oferecer. O ponto é que ler HQ pode ser uma experiência recompensadora para pessoas com gostos distintos e de qualquer idade”.



A premiação possui este nome em homenagem ao cartunista nascido no Brooklin, Nova Iorque, Will Eisner cujo trabalho marcou e influênciou profundamente não apenas norte-americanos, bem como uma série de artistas ao redor do mundo. Sua obra mais famosa é The Spirit.



Existente desde 1987, são vinte e nove categorias ao total com cinco indicados em cada uma delas cobrindo, assim, as melhores publicações e artistas que se destacaram no ano anterior. Os finalistas são escolhidos pela comissão organizadora dentre centenas de inscritos e os ganhadores são votados por profissionais da área. A cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios será no próximo dia 23 de julho e, atenção!, dois artistas brasileiros estão concorrendo! Ivan Reis, desenhista, e Oclair Albert, arte-finalista, concorrem juntos com Blackest Night ao título de Melhor Minissérie do Ano. Confiram a lista completa de concorrentes e façam suas apostas!
